Don’t wait – find the right public authority
UHR evaluates many qualifications, but does not issue any certifications. Please read the following to establish whether you need to contact a different public authority:
- Applying for higher education – you do not need to have an evaluation of your education qualifications to apply for a course or programme at a Swedish university.
- Regulated professions – Some professions are regulated by Swedish law and require certification or other formal recognition. In order to work in such a profession, you must apply for recognition from that profession’s competent authority.
- Teacher certification – Pre-school teacher and teacher are regulated professions in Sweden. The Swedish National Agency for Education is the competent authority for issuing certification for these professions.
- Healthcare professions – The National Board of Health and Welfare assesses and issues certification and licences for the 21 different regulated healthcare professions
